Safety First Brake Advice
Most cars are now fitted with Disc brakes all round.
The brake pad wears with use, but the brake discs which work in conjunction, are equally important to inspect.Distortion, wear, corrosion, dust and rust build up, can all cause brake deterioration, judder, or noise. They may even cause the brakes to stick or seize on.
How long should my brakes last?
There is no set length of time or mileage. It will vary according to many different factors and conditions. Most vehicle have wear indicators that alert you when the brake linings are getting low.
And a Brake fluid warning light monitors the hydraulic fluid level.
However not all systems have such systems so SAFTEY FIRST!
Always have your vehicle regularly serviced. That way you know the Brakes are always maintained correctly.
Often neglected, the hydraulic fluid plays a vital role as part of the system. It absorbs moisture over time so it must be replaced at intervals of 2/3 years. We can carry out a full inspection and performance test of your brakes, and change the Brake Fluid in the system. We of course only use ‘manufactures standard’ replacement brake components that are fully guaranteed.
