Every vehicle over 3 years old needs to be tested each year. This is to ensure it complies with road safety and environmental standards.
What is involved in an MOT test?
In the MOT test we check and test an extensive list of items mainly related to safety. But it is limited in its scope, for example we are not allowed to remove the wheels to check brakes. Nothing is replaced or changed. On the other hand a service is about the long term health and care of your car as well as safety. So make sure you get your vehicle regularly serviced as well as an MOT.
Why have your car MOT tested at Fields Car Centre?
We can carry out the test either While U Wait at a specific booked time. Alternatively the vehicle can be left with us and the test will be carried out during the course of the day.
The MOT test can be a anxious time, worrying that it may fail! We will try to make the experience as ‘pain free’ as we can. There are some things you can check yourself in preparation like checking the lights are all working, washer fluid topped up. The test takes approximately 3/4hour plus paperwork. So around an hour in total if you are waiting. If it should fail we will explain plainly why and what you need to do to enable a pass. We can advise you and cost up the necessary repairs to get your car through the test.
We can MOT your car while you wait, or your car can be left with us (town centre is within walking distance).
Remember we don’t charge for a RE-TEST! They are FREE of charge at Field’s Car Centre.
